Lusy's Mediterranean Cafe and Grill, Van Nuys

Lusy's Mediterranean Cafe and Grill serves up fresh homemade dishes from chicken shawarma to falafel sandwiches and rice pudding. Tasty food with quick and good service makes this establishment a great work week lunch spot for those in the Van Nuys area.

Each plate came with hummus and a side greek salad. A generous amount of food for the price. The garbanzo bean and tahini sauce hummus had a nice balance of spices and tang from the lemon juice.

Side greek Salad
A very refreshing salad made with crisp romaine lettuce, tomato, cucumber, feta cheese and kalamata olives dressed with Lusy's special house dressing.

Gyros Plate
The grilled slices beef and lamb gyro had a nice char and smokey flavor from the grill. The rich and flavorful meat was topped with tomatoes, onions and tzatziki sauce served with white rice and pickled turnips. The gyro wasn't over spiced and had a good balance of beef and lamb flavors.

Beef Lula Kebab
The ground beef kebab was very moist with subtle flavors of onion and paprika. With so many places serving dried out and flavorless kebab, it's nice to find a spot that can cook it right.
