Dishoom a Bombay Cafe, Covent Garden - London

One of the food highlights of my first trip to London was the Indian food at Dishoom in Covent Garden.
The 30 minute wait in the cold was well worth the chance to sample delicious cafe style Indian food. The warm and friendly service was an added bonus. If you are also in London for the first time, I would recommend a visit.

These bar condiments made me regret ordering wine instead of a cocktail like the chaijito, which includes chai syrup, coriander, and ginger.

Lamb samosas
4.20
Light, flaky and flavorful. These were the best samosas I've ever tasted filled with a seasoned lamb and onion mixture.

Bhel

4.30
Crunchy, sweet, tangy and refreshing. This was the perfect snack made with puffy rice, pomegranate seeds, onion, lime, tamarind and mint.

Garlic naan

2.20
Finally, garlic naan with enough garlic on it! Slightly crispy around the edge, buttery and warm, the garlic naan was enjoyable all on its own.

Bowl of greens

3.50
Simple grilled greens tossed with chili and lime. Hard to tell, but underneath the spinach were broccoli and snow peas.

Spicy lamb chops

11.90
Perfectly seasoned and cooked lamb chops marinaded in a lime juice and spice mixture.

Grilled masala prawns

11.20
The least interesting dish was the grilled prawns. Overcooked and the char flavor over powered the flavor of the prawn.

This was a good first introduction to Indian food in London and I look forward to exploring more the next time I'm in town.
