One of the food highlights of my first trip to London was the Indian food at Dishoom in Covent Garden.

Maggie Jones's, Kensington - London
On a recent business trip to London, I had the opportunity to visit Maggie Jones's, a quaint and charming restaurant situated in a quiet cul-de-sac that's a favorite spot among locals. The casual farm house style decor added a warmth to the restaurant and offered an escape from a hectic day.
Roast lamb
This was the epitome of a plate of meat and potatoes. The lamb was tender and well seasoned and the potatoes were crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside. A mint sauce was served with the dish, but it certainly didn't need it.
Butter bread pudding
This was a generous serving of deliciously warm and gooey pudding. Perfect with a cup of coffee or tea.
Tip: Kensington Palace is walking distance from Maggie Jones's and makes for a nice post meal stroll.

The three course lunch special for £21.75 offered multiple choices for each course.
Duck liver pate
The pate was served with toast and salad. Quite a large serving for being an appetizer and certainly could have been shared by two people. However, I happily devoured the entire plate.Roast lamb

100% Angus Beef Burgers at Gott's Roadside, St. Helena
Gott's Roadside is a popular walk up burger joint located on the main stretch of St. Helena, CA. The menu has over nine burgers from the standard hamburger to a fully loaded Texas avocado burger. The burger patties are made with 100% Angus beef from Niman Ranch. The cows are vegetarian feed and contain no hormones nor no antibiotics. On top of that, everything is made to order with locally sourced ingredients. And if that doesn't do anything for you, Gott's also serves beer and wine in addition to shakes. This is a great place to fuel up before hitting up so many wineries you loose count and find yourself thanking the Uber driver that got you back to the hotel in one piece.
Chili Cheese Fries
5.89
Why get fries when you can have chili cheese fries right? This sounded great on paper, but didn't quite hit the spot. The house made chili had too many kidney beans and there wasn't enough cheese to go around. Just the fries next time.
Cheeseburger
7.99
Although the Texas avocado burger did call out to me, a cheeseburger just sounded so satisfying. The patty was 1/3 pound and cooked to a medium well, served on toasted egg buns. The buns were light and fluffy on the outside and crispy on the inside. The patty had great beef flavor and just enough lettuce and tomato to add freshness to each bite. Juicy, flavorful, and the right ratio of ingredients between the buns makes for a damn good burger.
Tip: Gott's offers lettuce wrap as an option on all their burgers, but the bun really does make the burger.
